Are You Truly Alone?
Let me ask you a few questions. Are you the same person when you are around your family verses when you are with your work family or your church family? Are you the same person at your job verses when you are at church? Are you the same person when you are alone and no one is around verses when people are around you? Why did I ask those questions? As Christians, I want us to think about the consistence in our Christian walk.
I’m RW and let’s have a fireside chat about “Are you truly alone?”
I read once that there are three areas that pull at Christians to be disobedient. The first is Satan, the second is the World and the third is our Flesh. So when we are alone or away from our families (Home and Church) do we still protect the brand of Jesus Christ or do we let our guard down? When you are around your co-workers do change your actions to fit in with them or do you hold firm to who you are in Christ? When you are alone watching TV do you let your guard down to watch things that you would not watch with your home or church family? When you are alone do you surf on the internet to sites that you would not go to if you were not alone? Well guess what. We are never alone. The Lord Jesus Christ is always with us. His word says “and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age “Matthew 28:20.
As a Christian we need to remember that God is omnipotent but he is also omnipresent (present in all places at all times). Because we do not physically see Christ in the flesh or in others around us we at times let our guard down. We think we can hide our actions from Christ or no one cares how we act. I think about the Bible verses Proverbs 15:3 and Jeremiah 23:23-24. We cannot hide anything from the Lord. I reference those scriptures not to make you feel God is out watching you ready to quickly punish you. His nature is loving and merciful towards us. But to bring it to your attention that The Lord sees all and knows all. You are new creation in Christ 2 Corinthians 5:17. We should have an attitude of reverence and love. We should have a spirit of glorifying the Lord in everything we do (when we are alone or with others). Maybe you are the light that God needs to shine through John 1:3-5.
Here are a few more scriptures that I hope would remind you that we are never alone and Christ is always with us.
Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; “He will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Deuteronomy 31:8 “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
1 Kings 8:57 “May the LORD our God be with us as he was with our fathers; may He never leave us nor forsake us.”
These scriptures can also encourage others when facing challenges and feeling alone. But my point is God is always there with you. You are never alone. Be consistence in your Christian walk and
“Protect the Brand” of Jesus Christ.
