Going Deeper

If you are like me, today is spent reflecting on the year in review and looking ahead to the year to come. 

I’m VW and let’s have a fireside chat about “Going Deeper”

In years past, I have resolved to take better care of the temple of the Holy Spirit that the Lord had entrusted with me by eating healthier, losing weight, and exercising.   However, this year the Lord has made it clear through His word that my focus needs to be on Him and growing more diligently in my relationship with Him.  My dear friend refers to this as “Going Deeper” (Psalm 42:7).   To experience a deeper dimension of God’s presence, your soul must hunger and thirst for God in the same way a deer pants for the safety and sustenance of water. Only a small percentage of believers ever really experience this kind of intimacy with God because of the price.   Putting the Lord first (Matthew 6:33), He will equip us to do what He has called us to do (Philippians 1:6).   

As in 3 John 2 –4:  “Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your foul.  For I rejoiced greatly when the brothers came and testified to your truth, as indeed you are walking in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”    In these verses John is praying that his friend, Gaius, whose spiritual state was so excellent as he was known for his faithfulness and obedience in his Christian walk, that he would also experience that in his physical health.   However, this is not possible through resolution and/or will power.  Only the Lord can equip us to accomplish His will. 

As you enter 2014, hold to the promise in Philippians 1:6 (MSG)  – -“There has never been the slightest doubt  in my mind that God who started this great work in you wild keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears”

Enjoy your best year in the Lord as you put Him first and watch what He will do in and through you. Protect the Brand of Jesus Christ
