Protecting the Holy Temple – – our bodies – is critical for us to be effective in Protecting the Brand. In Psalm 139:4, King David describes humans, God’s creation, as being “fearfully and wonderfully made”. In John 2:21 and 1 Corinthians 6:19, our bodies are referred to as a temple, the home of the Holy Spirit. The Lord did not give us bodies to use and abuse as we see fit. Instead, He created us with our bodies to grow in likeness of Him, to worship and serve Him. Through His dwelling in us by the power of His Holy Spirit, we are helped in achieving that purpose in life that will enable us to live forever in His family.
The apostle Paul shed light on the purpose of the human body when he told the brethren in Corinth, “For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: ‘I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.’ Therefore ‘Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you’” (2 Corinthians 6:16-17). Additionally, in Romans 12:1-2, Paul strongly encourages us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. Therefore, protecting the Holy temple is paramount to Protecting the Brand in doing so we are not to be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of our mind, that by testing we may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
